Subway tiles gained such popularity that, by the 1920s, people began incorporating them into their homes, and they continue to be a top choice today. People have become creative with different ways of laying the tiles, breaking away from the typical brick layout and orienting them vertically or stacked horizontally or in a herringbone pattern.
